A complete itinerary to show the wonders and the biodiversity of the Country of Panama.
Day 1: Pick up at the airport by one of our bilingual guides. Rest of the day free at leisure to enjoy the vibrant city night life, vast restaurants options or simply to rest.
Day 2: Enjoy an interesting tour through Panama City and to the Panama Canal. The first stop will be at the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal. This is a unique spot to regard the huge ships being lifted or lowered a total of 16 meters, learning at its museum and from its short film. The tour continue to the so called “Casco Antiguo”, a Unesco world heritage, here in the colonial part of the city you will have the chance to see several historical buildings and learn more about the history of Panama City. Afterwards you will visit the Causeway where the Frank Gehry’s Biomuseum is located and enjoy the magnificent views of both, the canal and the modern city with its skyscrapers.
Day 3: pick up at the hotel by one of our bilingual guide who will go with you to Visit an Emberá tribe which still live in traditional villages deep in the rainforest of Panamá. The Emberá people are proud to share their culture and traditions with visitors. Before arriving to the community our Indigenous guide will show you the fauna around their home and very close to the Gatun lake where the vessels transit the Canal of Panama. It is pretty common to spot Capuchin, Titi and Howler monkeys among other species such as crocodiles, turtles, birds and Iguanas. Return to the hotel.
Day 4: San Blas Day Tour: Transfer in 4 x 4 to the Carti port where you will take an small Indigenous indigenous boat to visit some of the most amazing islands in this unique Caribbean Archipelago, the islands are inhabited by the independent Kuna Yala Indians; who run all the islands as an autonomous province with minimal interference from the national government, they maintain their own economic system, language, customs and culture, with distinctive dress, legends, music and dance and thus have avoided traditional tourism development. Facilities are few and simple, as is the food but the place is amazing.
DAY 5: Morning free at leisure. Transfer to Santa Catalina about 7 hours away from the city by car.
Day 6: Snorkeling tour in Coiba Island National Park where you will see an incredible variety of underwater sea life. Coiba Island, once a prison camp operated by the Panamanian government, is now a national park and a natural sanctuary protected by the UNESCO, it boasts the widest variety of coral species in the region, and you will be amazed by the impressive schools of fish, turtles, squid, sharks, dolphin, whales, and much more. It is incredible place quite unknown for many people.
Day 7: Transfer from Santa Catalina to Panama City.
Day 8: Transfer to the airport.
